I would imagine that a lot of pregnant mums would welcome the relaxing atmosphere the DVD creates, even if they are not used to practising yoga. I particularly like the emphasis made on time to enjoy the pregnancy and on being pregnant and being given permission to do so.

Posture alteration is a key issue in pregnancy and demonstrated well in both mountain and tree poses. Maintenance of posture in sitting and standing was reinforced throughout; as was effective breathing which could be used for relaxation during pregnancy and in labour.

The two main muscle groups, which become stretched and weakened through pregnancy and delivery the pelvic floor and abdominals, are exercised well in the all-fours section.

Most exercise DVDs promote fast movements with many repetitions- this one is a slow, relaxed pace and therefore is likely to appeal to pregnant mums who are not used to exercising. The slower pace means that the exercises are more likely to be done correctly.

The spoken words are clear; presentation is professional and the background music appropriate. It was nice to hear feedback from the mums with their babies. In all, an excellent DVD which I would certainly recommend to my patients.
